Mobile Service Technician

Status: Full-Time

Location: Post Equipment – Rock Valley, IA

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay: $24–$30/hour (based on experience)

Job Overview

Post Equipment is seeking a self-motivated Mobile Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance and repairs on cattle feeding equipment. This position requires mechanical know-how, welding and fabrication skills, and the ability to manage service schedules directly with customers.

You’ll be equipped with a fully stocked service truck and will work independently across customer sites while being supported by our shop team back home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair cattle feeding equipment on-site at customer locations
  • Perform routine maintenance, welding, and troubleshooting in the field
  • Operate a fully equipped service truck and maintain all necessary tools and parts
  • Schedule and coordinate service with customers
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation
  • Participate in an on-call rotation (typically once per month)

Requirements:

  • Experience with heavy equipment maintenance (engine work not required)
  • Strong mechanical and welding/fabrication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused
  • Comfortable coordinating directly with clients and maintaining a service route
